Frank A. Fontana  Born 9 Oct 1870. 
He was appointed to the department on 9-13-1895.  The S.F. Call newspaper on Mar. 28, 1902 reports he passed the exam for Corporal and was appointed as such.  The same  newspaper on the 24 of November 1911 reports he was made a Sergeant .  He served 32 years when he retired and passed away shortly thereafter on 2 July 1927.

Made by  Irvine W. & Jachens 2129 Market St. S. F.  Stamped sterling and dated 1-16-09.

S.F.P.D. officer and photographer G. W. Blum created this collage of all City Marshal’s and Chief’s of Police from 1849 to 1911 when John F. Seymour was appointed Chief of Police.  Each photo is individually mounted followed by delicate and intricate ornamental filigree and text was painstakingly hand painted.

Dimension including frame 46” wide and 38” tall.

San Francisco Police Officer Philip G. Kiely was appointed Dec. 1, 1938.  Kiely rose through the ranks and was presented with this 14k gold badge. 
On the reverse is inscribed, Lt. Philip Kiely from  Members of Co. E. 
(His Platoon)  7-1-50. 
A native son of San Francisco born
11-11-1915, died July 24, 1972.

    1068 Mission St. S.F. and marked sterling.  Frank was born in Napa California on January 25, 1898 and died May 3, 1961.
