Earliest Sacramento Police badge in my collection.
Charles A. Bliss was born Sep. 3, 1871 and died Oct. 2, 1967 at age 96. In July 1912 he took office as the Sacramento Commissioner of Public Health and Safety which controlled the Police and Fire departments. His badge is made of Coin Silver with hard fired black enamel. On the back is stamped Coin Silver.
